2005 Kansas Quarter P Mint
$1.99
Kansas let its high school students choose the final design for the Kansas State Quarter, which is the first to feature both the state flower and the state animal. The sunflower is one of more than 1,800 wildflowers that grow in Kansas. The bison featured in the design required a few alterations to make sure its horns point in the right direction. The bison was chosen as the Kansas state animal in 1955.
