Maryland Quarter

Maryland became the 7th state to enter the union on April 28, 1788. The 2000 Maryland Quarter features the Maryland State House Dome and the state’s nickname, “The Old Line State.” Some historians trace the nickname to General George Washington, who bestowed it upon the state to salute Maryland’s regular line troops in the Revolutionary War.
