Connecticut Quarter
The Connecticut Quarter design displays a majestic white oak known as the Charter Oak. This is where Captain Joseph Wadsworth hid the original Connecticut Charter when its revocation by England’s King James II seemed imminent in 1687. The tree fell during a tremendous storm in August 1856. Connecticut became the 5th state to enter the union on January 9, 1788.
