The 2025 Althea Gibson Quarter is the 20th and final coin in the American Women Quarters™ Program.
Althea Gibson was a trailblazing multisport athlete who accomplished an impressive list of firsts throughout her athletic career in tennis and professional golf. She became the face of American achievement in a global sport platform and paved the way for future Black talent in sports. By the end of the 1950s, Gibson won 11 Grand Slam titles, including multiple championships at Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, and the French Open.
