Nearly 7,700 years ago, Mount Mazama erupted and collapsed, creating a crater 20 miles in circumference. Over the years, it filled with rainwater. Today, Crater Lake is Americaโs deepest at 1,943 feet, and its famously blue water is perhaps the purest on earth. The Oregon Quarter proudly displays one of the stateโs most popular attractions, with Wizard Island in the center.

Ohio became the 17th state to enter the union on March 1, 1803. Released on March 11, 2002, this is the 17th coin released in the 50 State Quarters Program and the second released in 2002. The coin highlights the state’s contribution to the history of aviation. It features an early aircraft and an astronaut superimposed as a group on the outline of the state, and stars.
